Sister Schools
Fukiai has long been a sister school for schools outside of Japan. Currently, Fukiai has 6 Sister Schools:
1. Morayfield (Brisbane, Australia)
2. MacGregor (Brisbane, Australia)
3. Nathan Hale (Seattle, America)
4. Fenix (Sweden)
5. Taichung First Senior High School (Taiwan)
6. Grove Academy (Scotland, the U.K.)
Having Sister Schools allows Fukiai the opportunity to take part in a variety of different global activities. For example, Fukiai often communicates with its sister schools through e-mail exchanges and teleconferencing. Such activities allow Fukiai students to discuss important global events with people in other parts of the world, thereby giving them a better understanding of the world around them.

Cultural Exchange & Visits to Fukiai
Throughout the school year, Fukiai welcomes many foreign students to its school. These students often tell stories about their local schools, cities, countries and cultures. These talks and presentations are always very enjoyable for Fukiai students, and they learn a lot about foreign places and people. This past school year, Fukiai welcomed, among others, a group of high school students from Philadelphia, a group from Australia, and in February, 2 high school students from China. These types of visits are very common at Fukiai, and are always a highlight for the students.
Also, each year Fukiai has an gInternational Day.h On this day, many foreigners visit Fukiai and talk to all the first graders. In 2007, about 20 people visited Fukiai. Some were English teachers, some were University students, another was a doctor, and so on. They did some presentations for the students and the students prepared some activities for the visitors. International Day is a great opportunity for the first grade students to learn a lot about foreign people and cultures.
